This is OP. I would just like to say that, it wasn't the fact that I didn't get the tip that she promised that made me sad. It was the fact that, I had the cost of her meal, deducted from my cheque that made me sad..

My aunt once left a $50. That's not $100 but it's pretty damn good for a $6 bill. A croissant and two coffees. So yeah some people tip a lot if the service is really good and they think you need it or it would just make your day.
Whenever someone says they'll give you that big a tip spit in their food. If they don't or if they dine and dash you'll have the satisfaction of your saliva in their mouth ';) but if they do give it to you you'll feel like a douche.

That's why you don't trust people when it seems like they're trying to manipulate you.
Wow... How uncouth of that bitch! The general public should work as a waiter just to see how poor it is to basically steal from you ( when you think about most restaurants making you pay out of pocket)!
