Today, my boyfriend of two years broke up with me because I was "letting myself go". When I told the little girl I babysit in the afternoons why I was so upset, she looked at me for a moment before saying, "Well, I definitely can't blame him." FML

Today, I was babysitting a boy who was 11 years old. He told me that he loved me and wanted to be my boyfriend. I told him that I think he is a really great kid but I'm 17 so it would never work out. He said okay. When his parents came home he told them that I hit him and started crying. FML

Today, I was babysitting a five year-old boy. Somehow the topic of relationships came up, and he asked me if I had a boyfriend. When I told him that I was single, he got all excited and asked if he could be my boyfriend. It would have been cute… except he was the first guy to ever ask me out. I'm 18. FML

I love that this country is so blackhearted that 188 assholes think someone deserves this kind of comment. In a choice between "I agree your life sucks" and " you totally deserve it" (neither of which negates if the kid was simply speaking a harsh truth), they pile on the misery. In the spirit of your responses, let's hope that 188 people find out someone they actually do care about either can't stand them or gets cancer.

I guess the world isn't full of lame carebears who want to make everyone feel special and carry them through life with false hopes and dreams of being something they are not. This OP does show low self esteem for taking this to heart, and stuff. They can get over it and work on themselves if they have a problem. So, they deserve it if they keep it up.

YDI because this is not the type of coversation you should be having with a child you're babysitting. Clearly, he made a powerplay and he won. Next time you ask him to do something, and he starts to drag you into a conversation like this, don't be surprised, because making you cry makes you forget what you asked him to do.

YDI for getting offended by a child. As many have said, you shouldn't have been discussing your relationship status with a child you are babysitting. It should have never gotten to a point where advice/thoughts on your relationship were coming from a kid who isn't even old enough to take care of himself yet. Ridiculous.
