Well if you were the one cooking, then you're probably the last one to have used the tap and had it running hot. Besides, never use cold water or ice on a burn.
Ive been a professional chef for five years now, and honestly, hot water was the best treatment ive ever known for a fresh burn. It hurts like a bitch but then the pain subsides and dies not return and the skin wont blister.
