Today, my coworker said her dog died. Without thinking, I tried to cheer her up and said, “Oh man, that’s rough. Get it? Ruff? Ruff ruff!” and giggled like a schoolgirl. Nobody laughed. My coworker burst into more tears. I have a Teams video meeting with my supervisor and HR this afternoon. FML

Today, I found out my boss wrote me up because he heard me crying on the phone, and that it was unprofessional. I was talking to my sister, who was telling that me my father had died. Three weeks ago, he was crying about his dog breaking his leg. FML

I can't stand when people ask, "What's wrong" but don't want to actually hear the answer. The audacity of him to respond with such stupidity. As Kidfury likes to say, he and people like him need to jump into a pool of bleach with their eyes wide open. I'm sorry to hear about your dog, OP.
