YDI. Thats nasty, unsightly and not hygenic. Besides hair traps scents so this would be the time to grab a razor
Actually, no. The hair wicks moisture away from skin, keeping the area dry and preventing colonisation by bacteria (which are what cause the odor). It isn't nasty, nor is it unhygienic.
How come hair, that grows naturally on your body is not hygienic ?? I'm a woman, and my leg and armpits look like men's. And I don't see why I should shave. I had a male manager when I was working in fast-food who told me to shave since I was working in a restaurant, I had to be more hygienic. But how come his hair were more hygienic than mine ? Who decided one day women should shave ? For hygiene, for beauty... just tell me a real good reason for me to shave and I'll consider it. I'm already very feminine in the way I dress, I act, I speak, I'm told to me a lovely woman, and I have a good sexual life with men that don't have any problem with me having hair. So I don't see why I should spend hours in my bathroom shaving. Moreover, during winter, it keeps me warm under my pants.
Cool story bro put it in my "cares" box ?
*snicker* Don't you mean, "Cool story BRA?" Could have gone without reading that last bit about warm underpants.
@67, I could not agree more.
One good reason: the feeling of your clothes against freshly shaved legs (provided you use the right razor so there's no burn) is amazing. 2nd good reason: less itching. 3rd good reason: something to do in the shower while you wait the recommended 3-5 min to rinse your conditioner. 4th good reason: a clean shave plus some good lotion makes your skin feel so soft. Mixing baby oil with shaving cream is even better. Can't get the same results w/o shaving.
Not all conditioners make you wait 3-5 minutes, and your opinion isn't the same as everyone else's. She's happy with the way she is. Just because you think those are good reasons doesn't mean that because you've now stated your opinion she should immediately go and shave.
No, but I did ask for good reasons. If she think these are good reasons, good for her, and I must agree with some of them. It is true that a shaved skin is nice to touch. But it's also true that I don't use conditionner everytime I shower, and anyways I'm so hairy I need a lot more than 3 minutes to shave. But basically my point is : when I was a teenager, I started to shave because boys and girls around me told me it was the right thing to do. Because girls have to be pretty and the good way to it is to shave. But if I had never shaved, I'd still have my soft blond almost invisible hair instead of this black beard hair I have now on the legs. Teach this to little girls : if you want to be pretty, start with not listening to what's told around you. Feel good in your own body. And if you're a tiny bit as lazy as me, don't ever shave. 'Cause it's so much work after.
My BF is half French, he finds it a turn on. I wasn't that into it at first but now I like having hairy pits. Plus not shaving is so much better for my skin, when I shaved they itched and rashed up. Anybody who says it isn't hygienic only has half a brain anyway. **** em, it's your body!
#136 Great! Another person who thinks that French are hairy and like it. Your boyfriend being half French has nothing to do with the fact that he likes hairy armpits. It's not in our genes, and not in our culture either. It's just a stereotype. Like saying Aussies ride kangaroos. Most French women do shave, and most French men don't like having hairy girlfriends. Of course, there are exceptions, like in every other countries.
126 - I agree with almost everything you said... However I don't think your nearly invisible, blonde hair disappeared because of shaving. I used to have white blonde hair on my arms and legs, and even on my head! But, with age it's grown a lot darker. My hair is chestnut now, naturally. Shaved hairs do look somewhat darker but it won't take your hair from flaxen blonde to black. Cherub - But I'm saying just because YOU like it doesn't mean she does. That's not a "good reason" for her to shave. Are you feeling her legs? Even if you were, it's still her choice which I'm sure you already know.
#158 I do think before I type, thank you very much. "Frogsland" is used in a sarcastic way. I just want to make the reader smile, it is not offensive as I'm French myself. It's like an Australian saying "I'm an Aussie". This word can be offensive or not, depending on the context and the way it is said. But being ignorant, and just stating random stereotypes you don't know anything about is not very bright.
Shaving Party!
Personally, all I got from this was that your boyfriend has a sense of humor...just me?
It's pretty funny I agree but she should shave :)
So is your face!
^^^^^^^I second that^^^^^^
@95 : This is so disrecpectful.
*disreSpectful? How is saying "eww" about a natural part of the body any more reSSSpectful?
Why is this disgusting ? Because she has hair or because he has a problem with her having hair ?
But I don't make fun of men when I see their hair... so I don't see a big difference. Good for him he has sense of humour, but this is offensive anyways.
you're grody...
..."Grody"? Are you five?
jeez how long ago did you shave 0.o how could they be that bad !

You seem like a "furry" nice lady
That would be my problem with getting frisky in the shower, I feel like I'd have to tell them to wait 10 minutes before coming in so I could have time to shave and wash my hair/body. I'd feel awkward other wise.
