Today, while waiting in line at Gamestop, another customer and the cashier started chatting about how Pokémon is for kids, and anyone over 10 who's into it is weird. Embarrassed, I put the new Pokémon game back on the shelf and snuck out of the store. FML

you shouldn't stop enjoying something you like because some asshole says it's stupid. i'm 19 years old, i still play pokemon and collect the cards and i'm not ashamed.

While I generally approve of someone defending something they like, you making a statement like that without a proper source is just not good. For one thing, over ten means anyone who is eleven and older. That being said, I'm pretty sure the bell curve would die off around age 30 disproving your statement that most people over ten are into Pokemon. Although, I would have walked up to the cashier and asked something like, "do you think my eight year old would like this game?" Especially if I was still a young teenager. Edit: What the heck FML? Why you no post on the post I hit reply to?

That's a lie, most people OVER 10 are into pokemon, I wasn't as into it when I was younger as I am now. Screw them, go back over there and buy that game!

Should of just bought it, who cares what they think. My husband, who is 22 and a Marine. Plays Pokemon on deployments and what not when he has free time, to pass the time. Totally fine by me, saves us money. You'd be surprised how many of the Marines play Pokemon in their free time, I was. :)

Just go back and buy it. If you get that cashier, maybe just say something like "Oh, it's for my younger sister/brother/cousin" or something. Though, you should stop caring so much about what others think.

The guy works at a video game store. You could buy Hello Kitty Island Adventure and he wouldn't give a crap. Just buy it, it's not like you have to impress him anyway.
