Today, whilst at work, my dad decided to call me and sing an entire rendition of 'The Gambler' by Kenny Rogers. There was a big line of people, and my boss had been standing nearby checking out my phone. I had to stand there and listen to the whole song. FML

Um. No. You didn't have to listen to the whole thing. You should have hung up. YDI

"I'm sorry dad, I'm at work, I have to go." Polite and nonoffensive. Alternatively, just hang up. Is that so hard? You're at work, you have better things to do than to listen to someone sing, I'm sure your father would understand.

How is that an FML? I'd think it would brighten up the customers' day to hear someone singing over the phone.

Grow up. No one can take advantage of you without your permission. Next time hang up.

I always picture the OP in an office when i read 'at work'. but it makes sense if theyre working in a shop or something. But theyre still an idiot. HANG. UP. THE. *******. PHONE.

I bet the office got deathly quiet, and your face lost all expression. Sorry son, but the best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep.

How could this submission have possibly been accepted?

Your dad rules sorry you have a dad that rules

My dad calls me almost every Monday morning and sings to me. It is a song about Monday morning being over until next week. LOL He knows about how monday mornings can suck. He is retired now. I hope I can always hear him sing that to me and wish I will never have to have a Monday morning without his voice on my phone.

The real question is why you were using your phone while the lines were backed up. YDI for slacking off.

You deserve it for not hanging up on him. Hope you got fired.
