The OP is a man. His date was a man. Looks like the parents didn't know he was gay. The only "she" in the FML is the guy's mother. The clue is in the tiny print under the post, where it says (man). Look and learn.

Indeed I do not tolerate your intolerance. I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish by pointing this out though. If you think it's being hypocritical, you might need to brush up on your definitions a bit. To be fair, though, only one person (probably with a personal or emotional connection to the issue) actually threatened tongue-cutting; the rest of us were merely conducting a risk-benefit analysis of the strategy.

To say that homosexuality is wrong just for the reason of reproduction just shows how little you know. Many straight couples can't have children, and many gay couples do. You probably shouldn't. And don't state your twisted beliefs as if they are fact. Can you control who you are attracted to? Some gay people say they were born the way they are and it isn't your place to claim otherwise.

And that has nothing to do with birth control used by straight couples who don't want babies, gay couples (many of which decide on sperm donation/artificial insemination) who do successfully have children (or in the case of male couples, contribute thereto) are the real problem, right? You've done us a great service by revealing this information!

Many gay couples do? You say that as if they conceived the children themelves. Any gay couple that has a child OBVIOUSLY did not conceive it themselves. For you to claim that many straight couples cannot have children while many gay ones can is just utter rubbish. Any gay person that has a child has to get it from straight people, UNLESS anal sex produces babies, and i sure as hell know that isnt so. And how the hell can they know that they were born gay? Do they have memories of everything that happened since birth? That is just an excuse...and yes I do control who i am attracted to. If you dont, then you need help. Not it's not true. That's why ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION exists. There's war, dying children, and natural disaster going on everywhere in the world and how mankind is going to be destroyed by homosexuals bother you more? Get real. BTW, it's not a choice. If you see a random person on the streets, do you force yourself to be attracted to them and marry them? Or if you have a significant other, do you just suddenly decide by yourself that you're no longer attracted to them? It's much more complicated than that. It's maybe a choice, but it's not an conscious choice. It's an emotion. It comes from your heart, unconsciously.

And what's wrong with a gay couple "getting a child from straight people"? Adoption is a wonderful thing! I plan to adopt in the next 10 years. As long as the couple are (is? I don't know) loving parents, those children are way better off than if they lived in orphanages.

Thanks #308 and #324. I'd like to add that if every couple in the world were gay, there would be no accidental children. Less overpopulation, no children having to suffer without loving families. Background checks could be run on couples who want a child, thus preventing rather than remedying abusive home lives in some cases. (I'm not condoning this hypothetical situation, however; although clean and dry, the thought of the government controlling who gets to procreate is eerily Orwellian to me.) Man and man donate sperm, woman and woman are artificially inseminated, children are born, species is continued without any need of heterosexual intercourse. Somewhere in the area from "all of them" to "all of them" would be my wager. I love the random "I'm against male homosexuals but not lesbians!" people that pop up from time to time, apparently unaware of the difference between personal taste and morality. :P
