Too many JCS videos

Today, I discovered that when you buy ropes, duct tapes, a shovel, razor blades, a fire poker, and a carton of cigs, the police can turn up and search your house for 'prisoners'. Those items were actually coincidental. FML

if you allowed them into your home to search your dumb. now if they got a warrant that's a diff story. otherwise if they just came in it's an illegal search and seizure and anything they would have found i.e the bodies in your basement it would have been inadmissible in your trial and you would get away

Actually depends where you live. In most states if they find prisoners the cops can say they had reason to believe that someones life was in imminent danger and if they had waited for a warrant someone may have died. I also think there is an exception about if they found a body too but I'd have to check.

I hope they had a warrant to search or else you shouldn't have let them search your home. Buying those is suspicious but is not probable cause to enter your home; screams coming from your home is probable cause and a search in that case would be justified. Know your rights!

It's probably better than having them wait outside your house, following you, and talking to your neighbors to get probable cause. It sounds to me like the OP is moving into a new house with a fireplace though.

don't lie the rope was to tie the girl up, the duct tape was to shut her up,the shovel to knock her out, the razor blades to shave her(just in case), a fire poker for some kinky stuff and a carton of cigs for when you need a puff

**** the police for knowing what you purchased, you should have told them they were absolutely not allowed into your home.
