He should believe you eventually...not everything that Grandma says is true even though most children think all things they really think are true...
Yeah Op, don't you know he'll grow out of everything he believes to be true, as truth. Silly kids, believing everything you believe as the true truth. I don't think that's normal, #55.
Maybe you should divorce HER.
Your mother sounds like a toxic individual. She will likely try to justify it in some way (perhaps the old "I was just kidding, take a joke"), but make no mistake - that kind of behavior is passively sadistic and should not be tolerated. If this was a one time event, then perhaps you can all move on, but otherwise, it might be wise to limit your son's exposure to his grandmother, to protect him (and all of you) from her cruel machinations.
I like how you assume that's the reason why he chose his dad!
My grandmother would do the same to me and my older siblings. buy she'd put us in the corner if we chose our dad
Yet another Monster-in-Law. My parents and grandparents all seemed to get along well, so it's hard for me to understand it.
No,that's her MOTHER who said that.
Well that sucks!
my dad's the one that seems determined to ruine all my relationships.. why I never let my parents find out I had a bf back in the day, or even now really. At least until I know we are serious enough that my dad won't get to them. still several my dad has gotten ahold of and after a long talk with the dad things come to a quick end.. still have no idea what my dad could be saying to them but he always justifies it by saying since he doesn't like them for whatever rediculous reason that it's for the best. Haha then he gets all emo and hurt when he finds out I only trust mom to talk to about my life. I guess I kinda still love him tho... sorta. old bastard. so yea sorry about your mother. is she the type of person who's full if jokes, or not so much? but even if it was all meant to be light.hearted it's not OK.. some people don't know where to draw the kines with joking.
Wow. What an awful lady. Fykids life..

Your mother is despicable. Why would she even do that?
She's attempting to plant the seed that will grow into an inevitable divorce. Clever girl.
