Today, while visiting my mother, she asked my son who his favorite parent was. As a growing boy, he chose his father. I don't mind, except she then asked, "So, whose side are you taking in the divorce?" My husband and I have no marital issues. My son refuses to believe us. FML

Hey, OP here.Just as some back ground, this is my first marriage, and my mother has been through 3. I believe she did this because she is bitter because we don't bring our son around her often, if you couldn't guess why. My.husband and I are not having any problems because of this, and I made my mom tell our son the truth. And yes, as some of you have commented, my father was my favorite parent. Plus, I also think my mother is a bitch, but she IS my mother and I love her regardless. She now has to be accompanied by me or my husband at all times while with our son and if she does anything like that again, she is grandma-grounded for a month, and will not be allowed to see him. You're absolutely right OP. Definitely sounds like she's bitter and jealous she couldn't make 1of the 3 weddings she had, workout! It's good to hear you and your husband are doing well! Marriage has it's up's and downs... Don't let something like this cause havoc between you and the hubs! Doesn't seem like it has though... In-laws can be brutal.
