Tyranny

Today, while teaching swimming to a bunch of five year-olds, one particularly bratty girl decided she didn't want to swim and led the entire class to strike, leaving the pool empty, and me without a job. Apparently I was teaching the next world tyrant to swim. FML

You're paid to teach them to swim, not manage their upbringing. Screw them. I hope they drown.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. Oh, god, I love that kid. I'd love to be her friend. XD

You let all of those bratty kids control you? Hm.

#56 hit the problem on the head: You can't do anything to discipline kids any more if you're not their parent (and even that's getting worse). You can tell them to go sit in the corner and if they don't listen, heaven forbid you even grab an arm to drag them over TO the corner. That would be abusive and you'd lose your job and get sued, etc. etc.

I always blame the parents! =p ya 72 that seems to be becoming a bigger and more complicated issue as I have grown old. Beleive it or not it also ties into animal training and discipline and the age old question of cruelty or clemency.

I'm not shocked. I worked in a daycare... the limit to punishment is sitting them in a chair and praying they stay. That's about it. When the person in charge can't punish and the parents don't, what's to stop a group of 5 year olds from walking out?
