Buy her a budgie to fill that empty nest
That's one I've never heard before. I like that one. I"m gonna use it
That kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Stand your ground OP don't ever let her walk all over you like that.
your n tha family now, your allowed to punch family...
That is actually not a very nice thing to say or think, regardless of OP's relationship with her MIL. How will her new husband feel when his mom passes away? My MIL was a pain in all of our butts but it was still extremely upsetting when she passed away at 43 years old. She may be a bitch, but there are people she loves and people that love her. She is still a person, and her being a bitch does not justify wishing her dead.
You don't actually know that she does have people who love her. If she's that much of a rude, miserable bitch to everyone all the time, then it is entirely possible that no one loves her. Although I definitely agree that that's not a good reason for wishing someone dead. I might wish not to have to deal with her on a regular basis, but dead is extreme.
She was invited to the wedding, if she was a miserable old coot that no one loved, she wouldn't have been. (Namely her son) it sounds to me that she is jealous of the new wife for "stealing her son". My MIL actually said this to me a couple years into out relationship. She was a miserable old coot (well not old) but she was still loved.
I feel like that happens a lot with mother in laws. Like I bet with my luck it will happen to me too, because every mother is probably jealous that her kid has another favorite lady in their life. :-/
How do you know that everyone heard her?
ouch...enjoy your monster in law ^^;;

This actually makes things a lot easier; at least now everyone knows she's a huge bitch. :^)
Good. The best way to treat those who are inconsiderate and insulting is to simply ignore them. They don't get the satisfaction of creating a scene or receiving the attention they so desperately desire.
