Unfair. Period.

Spicy
Today, after I missed my last 3 periods, my mom grounded me for "getting pregnant" and refuses to believe anything else. I'm 15 and never had sex in my life. FML

Pregnancy test should clear the air... That's just to get you off the hook with your mom (or confirm) no matter how it turns out you'll want to make an appt with a gyno/obgyn. Sorry OP, but unless you're pregnant or on a birth control... that shit ain't normal. Unless... you're malnourished.

The fact that you missed 3 periods means you should go to the doctor, pregnant or not

She probably skipped sex ed lectures ..

My mother did the same thing to me when I missed two periods 8 months after I got my first one and threatened to bring me to a doctor to check if I was still a virgin or if I was pregnant.

I'm almost 30 and my periods are still irregular, I have a 7year old and went on the pill about a 18 weeks after she was born I stoped taking it about a year and a half ago still haven't had a regular one since when I was 12 (that's when I started getting them) I'd have my period for 6-18 weeks at a time then go 3 months without one (my mom being a born again Christian and refused to let me take the pill)

Maybe it’s like “jane the virgin”

If that's not normal for you, I'd consult a doctor.

Go to the doctor with your mother and do both a urine test and a blood test- they will prove you're not pregnant. Even though it's pretty normal to have irregular periods as a teen, it's also a good idea to have the doctor try to find what's actually going on- just in case.

That's awful! 😔 I would talk to a teacher you trust, school counselor, nurse, or a friend whose parents you trust. You would be surprised how many girls have a hard time "getting regular" with their periods. This isn't as weird as she thinks! While I typically don't advocate lying, you may want to sneak yourself into a Planned Parenthood (or similar clinic) to get yourself checked out to see what's going on, and possibly get an ultrasound to prove your point. I'm sorry, but you shouldn't have to deal with health consequences over something like this!

You mom should be taking you to a doctor instead of grounding you. I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) it can cause your period to stop and if you don’t get put on birth control to regulate your period it can cause long lasting problems for you if you have it, such as infertility. I really hope you go get checked out, it’s not something to mess around with.

There are plenty of reasons for mission periods, especially at such a young age. Unfortunately, your mother doesn't seem to know much about them. Find an adult who can take you to a doctor. It could be a simple thing, such as hormones, or something more serious that should be looked into.
