US healthcare is ****** up

Today, I went to the dentist two years after having a front tooth knocked out because I could finally (barely) afford the $4000 bill for an implant. They checked me out and told me that my teeth have shifted to the point that I’ll need braces before receiving an implant, for another $4k bill. I’m sick of looking like a hick. FML

Did you know that there is an option to have a temporary tooth put in? They glue it to an adjacent tooth and it's pretty cheap (I had a private orthodontist in Europe and she put it in for free) and sturdy (mine never came off, or maybe once in the 6 months-1 year I had it, some people have a bit less luck) and it looks decent. If it does come off, they put it back in in a minute. Hope this helps, good luck!

you can def go to another country for a cheaper work!

Just don't smile. It's overrated anyways.

one can't prevent smiling when reading your comments, sir :)

Aw, thank you! I'm trying to suppress one of those overrated smiles right now.

with 4k saved, you could afford an overseas trip to EU (esp. former east iron curtain countries like czechia, poland, slovakia, hungary etc) and have your teeth fixed for tenth of the US price. if you have a friend who is on insulin, you could bring a few insulin pens along
