Wakey wakey

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States - Saint Petersburg

Today, I woke up to my dad emptying a water bottle on my head, because I needed to "get up for school" or I'd be late. FML

Wow what a world where some kid being lazy warrants a FML. I think the dad should post "my kid never gets up in the morning for school, he's always late. I've resulted to using water bottles" now I'm a bad guy because I don't want my kid to be a lazy bum, FML"

would be even more funny had this been on a Sunday.

Should've sang Don't Wake Me Up, that would've told him the message.

Oh boo hoo. Your dad woke you up for school with *gasp* water! Suck it up, princess. Set an alarm and stop being lazy.

We don't know whether OP was being lazy. Maybe he had an alarm set and it didn't go off. OP, that does suck, but it could have been worse :)

That's a better excuse than "because I wanted to use bottle for something else."

Better that than making you watch **** for sex-ed

What we are missing here is whether it was the proper time or past it to be woken up for school, without that we can only assume. It could either be a lazy kid or a parent who decided to wake their kid up at an odd hour, nowhere near the time that the kid was supposed to wake up at.

If that was the case, OP could have included that in the FML. There's plenty of room to add "At 3 am" or "On a Saturday".

True, but people are good at clarifying things like that, especially when they cannot edit it later on.

Yo. For me it says 7:13. I guess its cause of the timezone... And since its anon it could either reasonable or just whiny

My parents alternated between water and tickling to get me up for school. It was torture. You're not unique and I've heard worse techniques.

Man, some of you people have terrible parents. Unless you're all just that impossible to wake up and they have to resort to drastic measures. My mom woke me up every single day of school by rubbing my back and quietly saying "morning sweetie, time to get up!" Anyone who ever tries to tickle me awake or dump water on me will severely regret it.

Once my kids hit 7th grade (age 12), they are on their own to get up for school. They insist they want to be treated as an adult, they have to act like it. If I wake them up, they get drug out of bed

My mom used to wake us up like that as a last resort in the mornings. She would fill water in a cup and splash us in the face with it. My dad, on the other hand, would threaten to fart if we didn't get up. That worked wonders, let me tell you..

did he really **** your life by doing that?

I'm confused as to why half of this FML is "in quotations" as if its all some big lie that you have to wake up for school and are running late.

maybe the op was quoting what the the father said

29 - That's probably it but it still reads strangely.

Yes. "Too bad" OP missed the day in "school" when they taught about "quotation marks".
