Weird timing

Today, while at church, I received a text from my girlfriend, saying, "It's not working. We're over." Not only was my phone not on silent mode, I was sitting directly beside my now ex-girlfriend. FML

Oh jeez. The text message breakup. The indicator that no matter what, you're better off without them. Unless you're physically abusive, and they're better off without you.

Why in the world would she think that is the appropriate time or place to do that? Maybe you're better off without her.

Which is why you shouldn't answer texts while at church. The rest of the service must have been awkward.

Most likely, he didn't mean to check his texts during church. I know if my phone makes noise at an inappropriate time, I'll take it out and switch it to silent as quickly as I can so it won't happen again. You really can't help seeing the screen when that happens. I'm more shocked that the girlfriend thought it was ok to send texts during a church service... and then you take the content of the text into account and it gets even worse. Makes you wonder why she even bothered going.

Well I'd say you're better off! Plus you got to make a scene out of it!

Wow, dumped by a text message WHILE in the presence of her. You'll look back at this later in life OP and wonder why you didn't just end it sooner.

OP (reads text): JESUS CHRIST! Priest: Yes, my son! You are in His presence! OP: Oh my god! Oh my god!! Priest: Yes, he feels the power of the Lord! OP (to girlfriend): What the **** is wrong with you?! Priest: Get out.

Watch out folks, King Sian here is clearly a badass.

Your comment is still funny regardless but a priest? Not even maybe a pastor or a minister?

Considering the vast majority of people in Hungary are Catholic, the priest thing makes sense...

That's faulty my friend. well on the brighter side of things at least you can move forward in your life. It's all about enjoying your life but keep it pushing. Life's to short not to spend it with people who actually care so don't worry you'll find someone who does.

She's clearly a coward who did that in a time and place where you couldn't say anything or make a scene. I know it sucks now OP, but when you look back on this in a few years you'll realize you're better off. Someone who's too cowardly to break up with you respectfully and face to face is not someone worth being with anyway.

i always wonder about the six pack abs they put on him o_O

I hope that some day she is smart enough to know how wrong this was and apoligize, not that it would make a difference.

Agreed. An apology may not make a difference to the OP, but it would probably make a difference for her. If she does eventually mature beyond doing something like this and she can finally see just how immature and fairly hurtful this type of behavior is, then maybe apologizing to the OP for treating him that way is a step that she needs to take in order to move on with her life and will become a better person for it. That's just one of my lines of thinking. I could be wrong. Who knows, everyone grows and matures differently.

Religion play its part in breaking up yet another relationship?

How so? Just because they were in a church, doesn't necessarily mean that religion had a role in their break up.
