Welcome…

By Anonymous - 19/02/2013 07:55 - Australia - Wahroonga

Today, I met my mother's deeply religious fiancé for the first time. His response upon seeing me was to look me square in the eye and say, "You'll need to take out that nose stud or I'm afraid you'll not be welcome in our home." FML

Disapproving

By Disappointment - This FML is from back in 2017 but it's good stuff - United States - Gresham

Today, I flew home to visit my parents. We haven't seen each other in two years, I've gotten a few tattoos done since, and I knew they wouldn't approve, so I bought whole new outfits that covered everything and looked professional. When I got there, the first thing my mom says to me is, "Is that a nose ring!?" FML

I don't see what your nose stud has to do with religion, this guy sounds like a bit of an ass!

What the heck?!?! Really over w piercing?

maybe remind him that, in the bible, when abraham sent his servant to find a wife for isaac, he sent jewelry--including nose rings--as gifts for the prospective bride...use religion to fight religion?

The nose stud is your get-out-of-jail card, saving you from countless hours of bible study, prayer groups and singing hymns (assuming the step-jerk is a Christian). It's much more fun to become a homeless, drug-addicted underage prostitute.

Wtf?!? So godly.. Must have missed the part about not judging others.

Is It normal for mothers to agree to a marriage before even introducing the man to her children? I find that odd. Blood and kids come first.

I probably would have walked in "their" house with a bunch of fake piercings just to get a kick out of his reaction...

Tell him the stud is part of your religion.
