Today, my boyfriend and I were roleplaying therapist and patient in bed. When I playfully asked him what bothered him, he told me his mother hates him and burst into tears. FML

I see this as actually a good thing. He's obviously been holding this in. And guys tend to have a hard time talking about tough subjects. Of course, it ruined the mood, but there's always next time :)

not a timely revelation and totally a mood killer but at least he is comfortable enough with you to be able to open up and show you his inner feelings

Well, as everyone else said, the sex got ruined but at least he opened up to you. Obviously he trusts you. There's always next time, and maybe it'll be even better because that element of trust.
