Today, my best friend and I went to the movies. There was a hot cashier, so I thought it would be cool to talk in a British accent to try and be sexy. I walked up and started talking when he interrupted me and said in a very heavy British accent, "I know you're faking. You can stop now." FML

Today, I went through a fast-food drive-thru and gave my order in a perfect British accent for fun. When I got to the window, the cashier handed me my food and said, "I love your accent!" Caught off guard, I replied, "Oh, thanks a lot!" in my normal New Jersey accent. The confusion on her face was priceless. FML

Today, while working alone, I decided to just try some random impressions, and so I ended up doing a French accent when a customer walked in. To avoid embarrassment, I had to continue faking the accent as he struck up a long conversation with me. FML

Today, I went to the movies with my best friend. While waiting for it to start, I went on to describe this guy I really liked and how badly I wanted to do him. Just then the girl sitting behind us leans down and says "That's my little brother. So you're the creeper he talks about." FML

Today, I was sitting in a theater waiting for the movie to start when a hot guy sat next to me. Trying to impress him, I made seemingly witty comments to my friend throughout the movie. When it ended, he loudly complained to his friends about the 'annoying girl' sitting next to him. FML

Today, I was at the local drive-thru with my boyfriend. While we were picking up the food, the asswipe at the window thought it hilarious to copy the scene from "American Beauty" and pretend that we were a couple and that I was cheating on him. My actual boyfriend believed it and won't talk to me. FML

Today, I went to the movies. A really cute girl sat beside me. I tried to strike up a conversation with her until she turned to look at me and I realized he was a guy. I couldn't even finish the movie because I felt his judging eyes burn holes into me the entire time. FML

I'm just going to say that I think you meant English accent because there are lots of different countries an accents in Britain (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and English) and ten you also probably meant a stereotypical English 'posh London' accent, people who are British but aren't English get PROPER annoyed when you class being British as being being English and also English people (such as myself) get very annoyed when you people (mostly Americans, sorry) do a 'English' accent. Also if he hasn't been English/British or didn't pick up on your accent then you would've had to keep it up if you went out with him which is just stupid

Ugh. Tell me about it. I always get "Oh! You're British! You must have a really sexy accent!"... nobody I've ever met talks the way Americans seem to think English people sound. So annoying.

I don't always speak w/ a Brittish accent, but when I do; I've probably either been drinking heavily or under the influence of quaaludes, which gives me courage to awkwardly approach a sweet, unassuming girl and make a complete dunce of myself.

I noticed you're a guy and so was the cashier.. Did your fake accent at least get you his number? Most people know Americans only use accents to impress people.
