#8, he would have a small case, but probably only could sue for the stuff that he lost due to donation. if the company was a professional business the contract usually state that you can be terminated at any time if they can provide a reason......and some companies are dicks when letting people go,
actually they can only fire someone straight off the bat for major demeanors otherwise they would need to warn the employee numerous times, so either: a) hes done something really bad b) work has warned him about something he continued doing c) no reason, he should sue the pants off the person who fired him
Actually that's incorrect. Depending on what the laws are in Canada. Some countries and/or states can fire you because they don't like you. Like here in AZ, USA, we are a "Right to Work" state. They can fire you for any reason they want. They don't need valid proof of anything.
FYL. That's ****** up. Sue them.
Wow something doesn't sound right. If you were such a dedicated employee why would they treat you like that. It doesn't seem right. But in any manner sue them.
Because the temp changes a LOT in Canada. So three sweaters of different warmths makes sense. And it's 60 CND.. so not so much.
I don't know if this is a Canadian thing or something, but it appears from the order of your list that you are more upset with the loss of the three sweaters than the loss of your job. You must have some great sweaters up there!
Yes, sweaters are very important to us. 'Cause, well... it's cold.
I agree with the others take them to court !
@20, thinking OP wrote it that way to be dramatic. And wow, that sucks, but when it's time to fire someone, they don't always think how to be the most considerate.
thats sucks :( i agree with every1 else- go to court
You would first go to the labour relations board for problems like this. "OMG SUE SUE SUE" isn't how Canada operates, but it is a possible option if labour relations can't do anything.

Sounds unprofessional. :/
#6 and 7- he found out he was fired because they put his stuff by the door. reason for termination is yet unknown. OP- that sounds very unprofessional of your job. might even violate some business laws. not a lawyer but I would look into it just in case.
