that is so sad :[
that's horrible D:
I'm so sorry. D: a similar thing happened to my family awhile ago... my grandma took our cat to the vet because he was starting to lose a lot of weight and was meowing as if he was in pain, and the vet said that he would be fine. When they got back from the vet, our cat was in the box, dead because he apparently had a heart attack because of a heart disorder the vet didn't notice. Anyways, I'm so sorry. I know how devastating it can be to lose a pet. :c
ive had a cat get hit by a car and die... it sucks so bad... im so sorry! a new kitten will help replace the void though, i promise! :]
Hahaha #96, people like you make me laugh! There's no way vets earn $3000 an hour, that's just ridiculous. Of the $1000 your friend spent on the op on their ferret, surprisingly little would've gone straight into the vets pocket. In every op there is a vet carrying out the operation, and a nurse/tech that monitors the anaesthetic to make sure the ferret doesn't die. Those people need paying. There would be pain-relief and anti-biotics administered (drugs aren't cheap). There would be costly suture materials, anaesthetic and oxygen. Those are just the obvious costs. The op itself might have lasted 20 minutes, but prior to that a great deal more time is spent checking the ferret over, knocking it out and clipping and scrubbing the creature. The theatre itself is kept sterile - someone is paid to keep it clean, and to sterilise instruments and gowns which again is costly. Someone is paid to monitor the ferret in the hours that follow for post-op complications as it wakes up, keeping it warm etc. Someone is paid to come out every 6 months or so and maintain the anaesthetic machine, the autoclave (for sterilising instruments) blood machines and x-ray machine and developer. Those are just the extra costs... I could go into the costs of running any building but I've probably bored everyone enough already. Vets earn a good wage - but bear in mind that they went to college for 6 years to specialise in veterinary medicine. You are paying for an experts time - they need to be good or we'd hear more stories such as the OP's. Your friends op on their ferret was expensive for a reason- I'm assuming the ferret survived. It probably wouldn't have done without the expenses involved. I'm sorry for the rant but people who assume vets earn thousands of dollars an hour are idiots.
aww....if my kitty ws hit by a car i would cry myself to sleep every night. im sorry ur cat got hit, and that vet is an idiot. but getting a sixth month old (no younger, trust me) will really help.
aww haha man I'm real sorry about that,
