You owe me $5, kitty

Today, my cat was hit by a car. I took it to the vet expecting the worst but they told me that she’d be fine. I was so happy I didn't even mind paying the $50 bill. The next morning my cat was dead. Having her put down humanely would have cost $45, I paid $5 extra to have her die in my kitchen. FML

Awh , poor kitty ! : ( I have 4 cats and none of them have died on me yet cuz they're all under 4 years old and accident free , but , sorry about your cat ! But , it's just $5 . Anyways you never know if she would've lived or not .

Thanks bullshit, sue the vet. Ur cat must of had internal bleeding. Make sure the vet knows about it

Don't be as ass Oden, and I'm sorry about your cat man :/

#6 Euthanasia can be more humane than anything else, because at least that animal is out of pain. I don't think it's about where the animal dies, it's about the suffering it goes through before it passes. Sure, it would be more comfortable in it's own home, an environment where it feels safe, but on the other hand if it's hurting then it's much kinder to save it that extra 24 hours of pain. #28 What a comforting, mature comment. Shows incredible understanding and compassion for the OP that just lost their pet. FYL for being such an unfeeling arsehole.

Losing a pet is horrible, but YDI cos cats suck. Plus 160 makes a very good point...how did you know your cat would die if it got hit by a car today?? And also, if you loved it, wouldn't you be grieving too much to post it on here???

I think it's better when they die at home - they are in a place where there are familiar smells and sounds as well as you being there for them. I had a cat put to sleep at the vet's and a cat die at home. I think that the cat who died at home got the better deal.

#163, you do know that EVERY fml story starts with "Today," right? and #23... ANIMALS ARE PEOPLE TOO! THEY'RE NOT THINGS!!! but sorry about your cat, i have no idea what i'd do if i lost my two lil girls :( they're my babies and the thought of losing em is horribly saddening and emotional, so i can empathize. but to people saying that at least the cat died in a place he/she knew, that doens't mean he/she went peacefully, he/she could've been suffering for hours before passing... it would be nice if vets could do a house-call euthanization so the animal doesn't have to have scared thoughts for the last moments of their life... that way they get it both ways... but again, sorry :'( but do complain to the vet, getting hit by car is reason enough to get scans of some sort to check internal damage if there was any, regardless if the animal seemed "fine"

I'm sorry about your cat. But are you really so cheap as to spend another $5 so your cat could survive?
