Today, my boyfriend told me that he would leave me if I didn't seek help for my eating disorder. The eating disorder in question? Vegetarianism. FML

You roast vegetarians on a spit over an open fire? At least they'll be low fat.

I'm not a vegetarian or a vegan, but some in some religions like Buddhism for example, people aren't allowed to eat meat.

Lets face it. He's completely right. It's just weird.

Hey, vegetables have life too so if you're going to eat them then you can't discriminate against animals.

If your a vegetarian and support animals, why are you eating there food.

30- Kinda what I wanted to know

Vegetables are easily replenished and maintained. Animals are harder to replenish and mantain.

yourmurderscenex 13

"oh I'm sorry Betsy but I am only eating you because if I eat your food I won't be supporting animal rights" da der da der. the logic here amazes me.

1PersonIsMyWorld 22

what we dont know is the other variables... are u barely eating your vegetables? how many calories a day are you taking in op? if you have a serious eating disorder, then maybe you should get help.

generalasskicker 12

I can agree that logic sucks but try this I can eat I enjoy eating it so I do. Whatever someone wants to eat is up to them and no one should judge anyone

I don't understand the fuss. Maybe because I stuff my mouth with whatever food or drink I can get my hands on...

hey if your not then don't knock it and if your are then don't shove it in peoples faces. I've been an on and off vegetarian for years. I've gotten sick and I can understand why he would be concerned if your going about it the wrong way. if not and he's just being ignorant then I'd have a serious talk with him

addioty 19

30, I dislike ignorant people like you. I have been a vegetarian for four years due to my teacher showing me a disturbing slaughterhouse video in middle school. You have no right to judge people who have different eating habits than you.

As long as you maintain adequate protein consumption, theres nothing wrong with being vegetarian. I just feel you're missing out on a healthy and tasty food group which is essentially all animals really have to offer us. Its Your choice…

The problem with eating meat isn't "replenishing" animal populations. We aren't depleting the wild cow populations. The problem is modern, commercial farming and the harm raising so many animals does to the environment.

Yeah eat some meat you dont know what your missing!

He seems a little slow... Maybe he's the one who needs to be seeking help!

And you seem a little quick. A little quick to assume.

shibeep 12

I'm not a veg but hey it's not like she's doing drugs. It's a pretty heathy lifestyle if you know what your doing.

Does the help he expects you to get come from a butcher?

And how do you suppose she does that? Hahaha.

Op should help her boyfriend to beat the meat... and become a vegetarian!

Well, the butcher could slip her some meat . . .

"My BF says I need some more meat in my diet Mr. Butcher, care to show me the Italian sausage?" I set up a joke for you guys and you failed me.

I'ma use that one at the next vegetarian roast.

#6 Because we're chemoheterotrophs and we need sources of carbon to survive...

sammyjanette 17

There are some major flaws with that argument. Humans mass produce produce, and that certainly isn't for animal consumption, so strictly eating produce wouldn't decrease the animal food supply.

yourmurderscenex 13

#6 that is the absolute stupidest shit I've ever heard. also, vegetarians don't have to eat just vegetables... think about it.

chocolatefrog28 29

As humans, we all need sources of carbon to survive. It's not just a specific set of people. As humans, we've gone on to grow and genetically modify our crops, i.e. produce, and not only eat it, but the animals in the surrounding area have eaten it. Think that helps their health out, with the pesticides and the completely unnatural additives? Nope. Decreases their natural and healthy food supply. And 27, no shit. I think the internet dwellers need to lighten up a little, or not set out for an argument any time someone posts anything. Take it down a notch.

@27 I've thought about it.... And it's still the same diet as an herbivore. Veggies, fruits, and nuts. What point were you making?

yourmurderscenex 13

...you're not thinking hard enough. vegetarians are not vegans. they can eat dairy products.

I think the issue here is that #6's comment was not meant to be taken seriously, i hope at least, but #27 decided to get offended by said comment.

Not everyone who is a vegetarian is a vegetarian because they're against eating animals. I'm a vegetarian for health reasons, because I have kidney problems and my doctor said it's safer to avoid meat. I'll occasionally cave and have a smoked meat sandwich or something, but if my boyfriend decided to leave me because I'm a vegetarian I'd tell the door not to hit him on the ass on the way out. I'd understand if you're one of those preachy vegetarian/vegans who acts enormously superior and disgusted when someone else eats meat in front of them.

Oh please stop with this vegetarianism excuse. I know there are some people who are vegetarians for these reasons (animals rights etc..) but most of the others are taking the lame excuse not to say "I'm on a diet" or "I don't wanna be fat". I ain't saying this to offend anyone but this is taking a new level of idiocy. Humans have been eating specific animals since the dawn of times, animals too, yet no bad effects have come from it. why? because it's the way life is. If we don't eat sheep anymore they'll eat our vegetables and we'll have to either kill them or eat'em. If we keep them from eating our feces then they'll starve to death, and it'll be like if we killed them ourselves.. and so on.. I hope I didn't offend anyone, as everyone have the right to believe what they like as long as they don't try to force it on everyone else. Cheers.

CallMeMcFeelii 13

I'm with ya, 97. I mean Christ, they make soy steaks and soy burgers. If you want to eat a steak, eat a god damn steak. Humans have always ate meat and it's perfectly good for you. I understand you don't want to eat cute little animals, but something else will eat them even if we choose not to. It's the way of life, you might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

Damn #6, looks like wayyy too many people cant take a joke

Not all vegetarians choose that lifestyle for animal rights. I am vegetarian. Humans eat way more meat that we are meant to consume and way few vegetables. You can get the protein you need with combining the right vegetables and grains. Studies show vegetarians live longer and are less likely to be diagnosed with cancer.

Cancer linked to meat consumption is bullshit unless all you eat is meat. Meat supplies necessary fats and other nutrients that humans need to maintain normal bodily functions.

danidanidani 10

This is one of the stupidest anti-vegetarian arguments i get yet it's the most frequent

InfiniteSecret 20

Shockingly not everyone who is a vegetarian is doing it because of animals, they may not like the taste of meat.

He's trying to help, you're missing out on so much delicious.

The more vegetarians there are, the more meat there is for you. Therefore you should probably be encouraging people to go veggie.

Save a rock. Filter feed through the air.

If it hasn't been done yet, I'm putting that on a t-shirt. I'll pay you royalties.

Grauncho 27

Save the air. Just kill yourself.

perdix 29

Show him how you like to gobble up meat, and he won't care about what food you eat. ;)

Maybe that's the real issue here... >.>
