Even to do that she needs to wait 8 weeks until they're weaned, on hard food and at least mostly litter trained.

You are not suppose to "sell" animals on there, although they do allow you to give them away on there.

Yeah right. The shelters are so full these days you can't even GIVE kittens away. When my cat had a litter of 5 we ended up having to give 3 of them to a farm to be barn cats. I felt awful, but the only other option was putting them down.
It's possible the seller knew and just didn't want to be left with that kind of responsibility.
