Advent calendar time!

Today, I was out selling Christmas-themed calendars for charity door-to-door. I rang a doorbell and a wild-eyed man appeared at the door, shouted about being "on nights" and that I'd woken him up, called me a "bell end", threw a newspaper at me and slammed the door in my face. FML

Welcome to the real world where tons of people work a night and sleep during daytime. I am one of them and salesman/jehova witnesses/quidam knocking at the door is always a bother. The majority of us politely advise that we are not interested and then go back to sleep but quite often if there is even the slightest hint that the person will not contend with politeness... well... Looking like a madman is the least of our worries if it gets us to the bedroom wuicker. The more you know!

I always feel bad when I end up calling someone who works nights for my job...Luckily, my people have class and we can either arrange to call on their schedule or not call back at all if that's what they want. We're all about convenience and respect.

What the freak is wrong with you people voting YDI? OP was doing something for charity, a good cause. So what if they went door to door? Sometimes that's the only way some charities work. I'm sure OP found others who would buy the calendars who didn't mind also.

A. Charity does not equal a good cause. Some charities outright suck. Some are just not in line with my views. B. When I want to donate I do so on my terms. C. My time is valuable to me and I'm not obligated to use it to make you feel you've done good.

Everyone who is up in arms about people calling op a ******** simply because op was working in the name of a charity need to piss off, doing charity work does not a good person make, they could have been obnoxious and rang the bell repeatedly, we can't know because op would have left that out to

I am certainly not a "hillbilly fucknut" and I own a firearm. What is a 95 pound housewife supposed to do to protect herself and her two children when her husband is gone for 18 months at a time? Beat them up? It's called self defense shitwad.
