If we were to leave food where they could reach and then walk off, we would come back to at least one of the cats enjoying our dinner. The big difference between our cats and a dog, though, is that our cats would throw-up in their litter box, not on our floor. And just FYI, cats do a lot more than lay on the couch. They lay in the sink, on my desk, on the computer chair, on top of the book I'm reading, and across my shoulders, too. They're very interactive, as I said.

Alysha, stop being such a classic "dog-hating" cat person. Neither of them is better than the other, it just depends on what the person prefers. I love both, but honestly? Dogs are more loyal, and if trained PROPERLY- which most people don't know how - they will obey your orders INCLUDING not eating just any food left out there, whereas a cat is a more selfish and independent animal.

Exactly. If you have an animal in your house, you do not leave food or drinks unguarded. Failure to protect a meal will be punished by having said animal eat it and throw up. Be more careful next time.
