Brain freeze

Today, I was working my job as a waitress near my college. I handed a customer her check, and she noticed that I had added her bill wrong. I apologized, and she pointed to my "student" labeled nametag, asking what I was studying. I said English. I'm a math major. FML

#28, not all math majors are your stereotypical nerds. As a math major myself, I'd say I get laid more than quite a few of my friends. Stop being bitter that you won't have a job after your graduate. OP, I totally know where you're coming from. People expect that because you're an expert on differential equations and multivariable calculus and high level theoretical math, that you're automatically a human calculator. My friends make fun of me all the time if I make an arithmetic mistake, so I can understand not wanting that teasing from a complete stranger. And to everyone saying she needs to stfu, let's have you try to prove or solve any of the problems on her homework and then talk about who's stupid.

That's okay. Sometimes, when you've studies higher Math, you forget the easy ones. Even my math teacher made the same mistakes so you're good. Just don't blame it on English majors though. Some of them are good in Math.

35: 7x8 is 56. The only reason I know that is because that's the question my year 6 teacher would always ask me. I got a B at GCSE and can't do simple arithmetic. I whizz through algebra and geometry though. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses- don't feel too bad.
