Brain freeze

Today, I was working my job as a waitress near my college. I handed a customer her check, and she noticed that I had added her bill wrong. I apologized, and she pointed to my "student" labeled nametag, asking what I was studying. I said English. I'm a math major. FML

lmfao #1 wins lol but good save, dont give that pretentious bitch the satisfaction of saying shit like "oh then you should know how to add"

a lot of mathematicians are not as good with simple arithmetic as everyone thinks they should be. you forget about normal numbers after a while. I would have done the same and I was a physics major

Haha I'm a math major too and I slightly know what it's like... First everyone calm down about saying a different major; it was probably just the first thing that popped into her head when she thought about majors that wouldn't need to know math. Perhaps if you were an English Major and claimed that the play Pygmalion was by Shakespeare, and were corrected, you wouldn't be exactly eager to say... "i'm studying british literature" Still though mental math errors make me lol

you shouldn't have lied. Seriously are you ever going to see that person again? no prob not

If OP is never going to see that person again then wth does it matter if they lied or not...? OP is the only person that will ever know.

It was a mistake. I love math and am really good at it. And I can do so much math in my head. And I make those mistakes too. Just proves you're human.

nbd. at least u ATTEMPTED to add it up. one time i gave a server at McDonalds a $20 for a $4 (plus change) meal, she had to call someone over to count the change for her because the computers were down

18th!!! Jk that's a joke making fun of losers who Call numbers Yeah who cares a small math mess up?

You mean like you just did? (Called a number, AND it was the wrong one.)

Lol don't freak out, when I was intensely studying for maths exams at school, whenever I needed maths in other aspects of my life, I would stuff them up! It's just your mind being sick of crunching the numbers for things other than your graded work :)

What is "stuff them up" supposed to mean..?

I'm in college too, and I love math. Yet I still have issues with addition and subtraction. Some of us just never got a good foundation in math. We can still do kick-ass calculus :)
