Check that expiration date man, it's later than you think

Today, I went to take my permit test. I had been studying for months and was familiar with the whole book. When I sat down to take my test, I didn't recognize any of the questions. I went home and found out the book I used to study was the book my mom used to take her test in 1970. FML

That seems like a pretty obvious thing to notice when studying, if nothing else a 40+ year old book would not look modern even in the slightest. Your own fault OP sorry to say.

And you still passed because it's all common sense BS that any idiot can do, right? Maybe not given that you couldn't tell a book from the 70's from one today....

Unfortunately Google time travel is still in beta faze.

My brothers getting his permit this week, they just give you an eyesight test, have your parents sign papers then and you like 5 common sense questions then your done.

Red means stop, green means go, yellow means fast so you don't hit the red one.

How did you not know it was an old book? Should have pretty obvious too. I hope you still passed at least. That would suck if you didn't!

"Hmm, there's nothing in here about texting and driving."

Hence the reason why I think once you pass 40 you should be made to retake your driving test. Rules change all the time.

Your mom blowing the dust off of it before handing it to you or the frequent reference of 'car phones' and 'woodys' didn't raise any red flags?

How old is your mom? I'm 22 and my mom was BORN in 71. Your mom is like 60.

I agree. My mom was born in '70 and I'm 25. OP's mom was like 46-ish when she had them. Making her around 62 now. At minimum.

Well, you clearly weren't THAT familiar with the book were you?

there are online guides you can use for free if you need to.
