...It didn't read or look outdated at all? YDI
As long as your in the US, most states written driving test are a joke. And other than cell phone laws, the basics of driving haven't changed. If you didn't still pass YDI.
YDI. A car is a dangerous instrument, that could kill a human being. As a driver you have to look if all security devices like brakes, lights and seatbelts function properly. If you even fail in simply looking if you have a fourty years old text book, you are not responsible enough to drive a car.
Umm... dude, your comment is totally irrelevant to the FML itself
No, it's not. He's pointing out that if you can't even check a simple date, you can't be trusted to check the important things and are therefore considered too stupid to drive. Maybe read things before commenting.
I don't know what state you're in (or if you're in the US even I can't tell with the new update) ok but anyways as someone studying for their permit, here? it says the year on the cover? I'm almost calling bs
It says US, but I've seen plenty of books with the year on it. Especially since pretty much ALL existing books have a publishing date in it...
I'm from Mississippi as well and the driving test is a joke. I didn't even finish the test because I auto-passed halfway through. As long as you know to stop at stop signs and to put your emergency break on when parking on hills, you should have still done fine.
That really sucks. If all else fails the book should be online
I'm pretty sure that all DMV offices will have a book/pamphlet that has everything you need to know, and it's free. All you have to do is walk in and get one
In Massachusetts, you have to pay $5 for the book(at least when I took it 8 yrs ago, the price has probably gone up since then)
It's free on the Internet
Sorry to hear that op. Maybe you should try the books online better. It might be more convenient.
When I went to get my permit test, I too recognized few of the questions and was quite nervous, especially when I kept getting them wrong. Finally, when I had one question to pass or fail, the trooper called me over and complimented me before changing my test. It turns out that I had just almost passed the test to become a driving instructor because he gave me the wrong one.

That seems like a pretty obvious thing to notice when studying, if nothing else a 40+ year old book would not look modern even in the slightest. Your own fault OP sorry to say.
And you still passed because it's all common sense BS that any idiot can do, right? Maybe not given that you couldn't tell a book from the 70's from one today....
