Checked out

Today, an elderly woman couldn't afford all of her groceries at the checkout so she started to take out a few things. I offered to pay for her groceries; she thanked me and walked out. An onlooker then came up to me and told me that she does it to someone every week. FML

Just because she's a thief doesnt mean your good deed means nothing. Don't let bitch granny stop you from being awesome!

Nice money-saving tactic! Too bad I can't do that where I'm from, as most people here don't have heart as golden as yours. Chin up, OP!

Wow kinda sad. That's how people stop doing good deeds. Anyway OP, you were a good person, carry-on.

That really sucks. There is all kinds of pity party scammers out there, and when there is someone who really does need help we are reluctant to help them because of it

Then you won't do it again and the next will be genuine! Mean old lady. Be proud of yourself and your kindness OP, you didn't make a mistake

What you should've done is offer to pay for what she couldn't.

My bad. Like if the total was $300 and the lady had only $288, then OP could just pay the extra $12 is what I meant.

Not to be rude but did you read the fml at all. Op did help the lady pay for the groceries that she "didn't have enough for".

You did the right thing though even though she screws people over, good job on your part though.

look at it this way, your good deed for the day is done you can run her over without losing any points in karma

Hey, you did the kindest thing anyone could have done in that situation. If I were you I'd just be proud of the fact you stepped up to help someone who apparently needed help. Keep up the kindness, there's not enough of it in the world these days!

youd be suprised how often that happens....
