Cheers

Today, I found a wallet belonging to some guy, it had $355 inside. Because he had his address written inside, I decided to return it, hoping for a reward. I drove for 40 minutes and finally got to his house during peak hour. All he did was say, "Oh, cool." FML

Drug money. But you don't do something for the reward, you do it because you feel it's right. YDI.

Holy crap entitled much? Instead of doing something for a reward, why don't you do it because it's the right thing to do? And how is he supposed to know that you drove for 40 minutes? What I would've done is turn it in to the police, or if I found it in the store, turned it in to the store manager, rather than driving for 40 minutes and then expecting a reward for not stealing it. It's ridiculous how people expect to be rewarded for not doing the wrong thing. Plus, how do you know you returned it to the right person? It had an address written inside? That could've been the address of a friend's house, or a house someone needed to make a delivery to. Maybe you just gave the wallet to a stranger who decided to pretend it was his to keep the money.

Wtf?? Good of you to return the wallet - pathetic of you to expect a reward and then bitch when you don't get one. Heaven forbid you do something decent without some kind of personal gain. That could be the guy's whole paycheck, or the money he needed to pay the bills; just because it looks like a lot altogether in the one wallet doesn't actually mean it's a lot of money, and it sure as hell doesn't mean he can spare it to give you any. Would you have returned the wallet if there had only been $20 in there? ******* sook, grow up.

The guy didn't even sound very thankful. How could it've possibly meant that much to him?

Who said the OP expected a reward? A 'thank you' would have been nice. This guy went out of their way to return a wallet and the owner basically shut the door in his face. And people wonder why others pass by people in need without helping. I wouldn't blame the OP if next time they pocket the cash and toss the wallet.

Dude, read the FML. It says he went there hoping for a reward.

Oh, my bad... still... the guy could have said thanks :X

you should have "mistakenly" put some in your pocket

I was once in this situation and just turned it in to a store manager. I hadn't even left the store before I saw her put the cash in her pocket and throw the wallet out.

wow. that's horrible. I think I'd turn around and get their bosses number... they could have at least waited for you to leave before pulling that.

you shouldn't have given it to her ... :X

return a wallet - no reward Returning a purse - There's always some time of reward in my opinion females tend to give rewards to those who bring back there purses due to valuables and different forms of identification that mean alot to them but with males some times a reward is not neccessary because why should they feel obligated to given an reward for a personal possesion. i did a report in class about it and did a survey.

(cheesy **** music playing) Chicks always give you a reward.

At least you did the right thing. And if you're new to that, doing the good thing rarely gets rewarded that's why people always tell you about it if it does, it's that rare.

Granted, he should've said thanks but YDI for expecting some kind of reward. What happened to doing things out of the kindness of your heart? Maybe that was his full paycheck and that's all he has to live off of for a week? For two weeks? I honestly would've just looked up the address online, called, and mailed it - maybe even with some of his money if he had that much cash. He didn't make you drive there. Plus, who really would know if he was home? Were you gonna wait two hours for him to come back to hand deliver it?

I am drinking a peach flavored tea when I stumbled upon this. I calmly think that the guy is a douche and you are an angel. it sucks you didn't even get a thank you. but oh well. you earn good karma for it

Hello y'all I'm down here! Can you see me? Anyone? Hello! Well I'm down here 24 days of the week

next time keep the money and throw it in his mailbox
