Today, my boyfriend got rejected by his dream college. In an effort to comfort him, I told him that he is incredibly smart and that it's their loss. He replied, "Of course you think so, you're an idiot!" FML

Thats really unfair on you, but you have to understand he's probably just incredibly gutted right now and although he shouldnt have taken it out on you he just snapped....Bless you for putting up with him though. x

Learn that people don't like a being comforted when stuff like that happens, I have. Two of my friends didn't get in to the best Uni in the UK, I did. I knew anything I said would should cheap so I said nothing, you should too.

Yeah, the predictive text on my iPod changed sound to should, big deal. And I have since talked to these friends about it and they agreed and were glad I hadn't tried to "comfort" them immediatley after they had the news. Oh and in my (biased) opinion Cambridge can't match up to Oxford :P

&& yes. Taking his anger out. On HER. The person who was trying to comfort him, and show him there are other options. You're a total knobwad. & no-one likes being treated like that. It's called bullying. All I got through school was constant comments from my now best friend on what an idiot I was, & how 'stupid' I was being. Eventually though, I ended up snapping and letting her know exactly how I felt. That isn't a 'girl thing'. It's called being human. So. Suck on them lemons. ;D xx
