Maybe... He is cheating and has fallen madly in love with the woman he is cheating on you with, but obviously she is a dick, cos she is helping him cheat, and THAT is what he means by bad taste?! Can't help who you love. Does that make ANY sence outside of my head?!!

Think of it this way....he has poor English skills because he contradicted himself entirely. And a man with poor English skills...tsktsk! Go find yourself a strapping young lad who not only has awesome English skills, but good taste, thus attraction to you!
