Today, while crying at my grandma's funeral, I was told to "man up". FML

Sorry for your loss. No matter how much of a man you are, crying at a funeral does not mean you're weak. Especially if it's someone close like a grandmother.

It's okay to cry, especially under these circumstances. Whoever tells you otherwise can go to hell. I'm sorry for your loss OP

Hey, I never cry. Like never. I am a man as well as you and I cried at my grandmother's funeral too. I even got a little emotional over this past weekend when I was talking about my grandmother who passed last year. My point is, There is nothing wrong with a man crying sometimes. Whoever told you to man up, should grow a pair for themselves. That is just not something to say to someone who just lost someone important to them. They should have been supporting you. Heck, people who I had never seen cry before in my life were crying more than me, and these 60+ year old men. Sorry for your loss OP

Over 1000 people voted this as YDI?! Seriously what is wrong with people?!

I honestly wouldn't cry over the death of my grandparents because I was never close to them, but I can fully understand. Tears don't make you weak, OP. If anything, they show that you're not an emotionless sociopath. So good on you, love. Hopefully you've gotten on with everything well since this has been posted.
