By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I found out that when an officer screams, "DON'T MOVE OR I'LL TASE YOU", it really means, "If you so much as flinch I'm going to shoot and 50,000 volts will be directed through your nose and groin." FML

YDI. If an officer is SCREAMNING ,as you said, that he's going to taze you then don't move at all. If an officer's going to taze you then you either robbed a place, just hurt or about to hurt someone, or you're resisiting arrest. Wether or not you did something wrong in the latter situation, resisiting arrest will be used against you and you will more than likely be charged with a crime that you may or may not have commited. And on the off chance that the officer has no legal reason to taze you, why are you telling the internet when you should be sueing him and trying to get assholes like him out of the force? And just be glad that he didn't shoot you.

I was going to say that! hehehe This was to be under #11's

1) Officer warned you 2) You don't tell us what you did to get Tazed. For all we know you were standing over a dead hooker when the officer screamed "DON"T MOVE OR I'LL TAZE YOU". So we don't know YDI or FYL but I suspect YDI

Are you a cop, friends with a cop or perhaps married to a cop? I’m just wondering because you said: “Yes, there are asshole cops who like to abuse their power, but that is typically not the case.” Right. Because people with power who choose not to abuse it, are just that common. I think people stopped guessing about you having too much time on your hands at this point. It became a certainty after: "I've gathered the facts..."

'Don't move' he said and flinching, last I looked it up, involves moving. Congrats on finally understanding english. YDI

Can't say FYL or YDI if we don't knwo what you did to be tased. And yes, I'm pretty sure that "don't move or i'll tase you" WOULD equate to him tasing you if you moved! Duh??

Rayn4u - I would agree with DarlingNikki_85. Most of the people I know support cops. The vast majority do their jobs just fine, they do a thankless job, and just get abused by people like you when they haven't even done anything wrong. Think about the thousands and thousands of cops across your country, and the handful that end up in the news for wrongfully tasing/shooting someone. It would be a tiny %. (And btw, I've only ever personally known one cop, he was significantly older than me, haven't seen him for several years.)

DarlingNikki_85 - while I agree with your assertion that most cops do their jobs well and we shouldn't automatically accuse them, you've got some of your facts wrong. "those who have been killed by use of a taser were killed because their adrenaline was pumping so much and they were fighting so hard that their hearts just stopped." Uh, no. There was a guy who got killed by a taser here in Australia a few months ago. He had been tased something like 35 times. It wasn't known whether the cop purposely tased him that many times, or if the taser malfunctioned. Sometimes, people get killed by tasers because of malfunctions or over-reacting cops. Sometimes they get killed due to their own pre-existing health conditions which the taser exacerbates. Your explanation is not the 'only' reason people die from tasers. And also, your explanation doesn't make sense... adrenaline generally ASSISTS in keeping the heart operating... so why would a person's heart stop due to the adrenaline rush?

ydi for getting in that kind of situation.
