Totally your fault. If you're not communicating your desires effectively, then don't expect them to be fulfilled. Harboring hate toward him that way is just going to ruin your relationship and drive him to others whom he can communicate and share intimacy with, which is exactly what I would do, and seems to be exactly what he did.
