Covid depression

By Bhrugu - 03/05/2021 11:32 - India - Hyderabad

Today, after a month of online school due to the second wave of Covid in India, I discovered that I have lost the ability to enjoy most of everything I used to. I can't enjoy reading, eating, music, or everything else. The doctor says it's anhedonia. I'm not depressed, or at least that's I think. FML

Honestly, those are all the symptoms of depression-- which is normal and unfortunately very common right now for many people. Instead of refuting the possibility, you should slowly try to coach yourself back into hobbies you enjoyed or even try some new ones-- speak with friends, etc, and just let it play out slowly. Mostly, be patient with yourself. Depression is not a stigma, it's a real thing that can be temporary or a lifelong battle. Take it for what it is, and take care of yourself during those moments of disconnect.

It sounds like depression my friend, and that's okay. We are living through a unique time

I'm sorry about your condition. You're not alone, this pandemic has taken it's toll out on a lot of people. Try to reach oit to friends, support groups. Try to laugh and lighten up if possible, humor is a great way to feel better. Take care.
