Just fix your lice problem and find a different salon. If I were you op I wouldn’t want to go back to that salon.

I call bullspit! a reputable salon would have treated the problem. I have a friend that was a shampoo girl while in school, she used to tell me how people came in JUST to get their lice treated. FYL for having an ignorant stylist! I'd ask to speak to the owner; I'm sure they don't want to lose business because of a prissy stylist.

If trese666 was actually a hairstylist she would know that the state board has strict codes about infectious parasites such as lice. Yes the professional thing to do would have been to quietly inform the OP. They are under no legal obligation to do so though. They can ban you. Salons don't have to accept your business. Legally a salon has to refuse you business when you have lice until it is completely cleared up. Also lice have nothing to do with the cleanliness of hair. They are a parasite. Know your shit trese666 before you claim to be something you're not.

um if you were an actual stylist I'm pretty sure you'd know that the other girl is right, lice like clean hair BECAUSE they're a parasite, the grease in dirty hair makes it hard for them to get through and attatch on to the scalp.... I mean yeah, you can get lice either way, but lice don't last long in dirty hair.

...but isn't getting long hair cut short the first step to getting rid of lice? How are you supposed to achieve that if the people who are supposed to cut your hair won't do it?

not unless you shave it all off. you're better off using a special shampoo + comb (unless you don't mind getting it all sheared off).

No, not always. I've had lice and long hair before, and all I had to do to get rid of them was use lice shampoo and a lice comb.

I gotta say as a person who got a lice infestation from some person who came in to get a facial from me I don't blame the salon I ended up shaving my head to get rid of the damn things

@ #5 i am a hairstylist and there isnt a treatment and we arent allowed to do anything. What we do is send them directly to their doctor...lice can jump up to 20 times their size which is the reason the client is sent to a doctor....aaand i doubt that you would get banned from a salon just told to come back when your clean haha

youre a hair stylist and you don't know lice CAN'T jump? wouldn't come to YOU to get my hair done. I've been a qualified hair dresser for 2 years now and even I know lice can't jump. you're thinking of fleas. go back to vocational college and relearn your trade.

I don't get why people are saying they deserved to be banned. Lice don't last forever. And why are all the people who are correctly saying that lice can't live in dirty hair getting thumbed down? Oh yeah, because it's the internet. Silly me.
