Creepy crawlies

Today, after a particularly gruesome nightmare about spiders due to my irrational phobia, I decided to try and desensitise myself by googling 'house spiders'. I can't stop the feeling of something crawling over every inch of my body, but at least I now know they can live up to six years. FML

uummmm lots of people are scared of spiders

did ya no that the average human eats 6 spiders in their sleep?

Do you even know what a phobia is? Oh wait, you're a troll, sorry.

One time, my bedroom was infested with spiders. I walked in at 2 AM and turned on the light and the mother spider was hanging right in front of my face and there were tons of baby spiders all over the walls and ceiling. I wasn't able to sleep in my room for about four months, even after vacuuming up all the spiders.

I lock all my doors if there is a spider in the hallway and I sit on a chair in the middle of my room with my legs up.

Spider-man, Spider-man! Does whatever a spider can...

You even admit that your phobia is irrational, so what the hell are you afraid of?

well ppl will always have irrational fears of sorts. i have arachnophobia too and i just ran for cover the other day when my school's zoology teacher brought his pet tarantula into my physio class. one image/thought triggers a certain chemical in the brain and to some ppl it will create a fear reaction. its like OCD. its beyond our concious control.

But once you actually know and admit that it is irrational you can overcome it. When you come to the realization that it is impossible to pose any threat to you, you can slowly desensitize.

Yes, that's the theory, but phobias are different from normal fears. People with true phobias can see an image of, say, a spider, and start shivering, feel the urge to throw up, experience sweats and a racing heart like a panic attack. Some people have success desensitizing, others don't.
