Creepy crawlies

Today, after a particularly gruesome nightmare about spiders due to my irrational phobia, I decided to try and desensitise myself by googling 'house spiders'. I can't stop the feeling of something crawling over every inch of my body, but at least I now know they can live up to six years. FML

It's ok OP, I have an irrational phobia of owls... yet my favorite place to eat is Hooters... the irony makes me ashamed of myself :(

why did you google them if you have a phobia again?

The really common spiders you'd find in your house, ghost spiders, are harmless. The worst bite you could get from one would just look and feel like a mosquito bite. :) Also, the really poisonous spiders are actually pretty shy, prefer not to be around humans, and only bite if you touch them or their eggs.

I've heard in some countries that they fry up spiders and eat them. -shiver-

in america, we eat live spiders for money...mmm:)

Want to know the positive side, OP? You admit that your phobia is irrational. I had a similar thing a few weeks back, it had lasted for a year or so; but as soon as I learned that it was irrational, I was able to just quit the whole thing in an instant. I hope for you that you'll be able to too.

My little brother has OCD that works in tandem with arachnophobia, which means that if something is out of place he won't sleep because he is so worried about spiders . Every night he goes through a ritual of acitivities to avoid spiders. it's awful. I empathize with the OP.

That makes about as much sense as renting Arachnophobia, OP.
