No. 81, it is a statement of fact. She is stupid. I am smart. She thinks it's the other way around and has no problem telling me this every time she comes into contact with me, constantly 'correcting' me with things that are so far wrong it is hard for me to listen to her with a straight face (really, she screams things at me such as, "you split an infinitive" when there was no infinitive in my sentence; she just yells random English grammar rules at me without knowing what they are and pretends she's right and I'm just so humiliated that I can't admit it). It's all about her wanting to smirk that she's smarter than I am despite my fancy education and not because she thinks she's genuinely helping me. She does it because she's jealous that I went to college (she wanted to and didn't) and I have a PhD and I have a really good career and she did nothing with her life other than marry my dad (another abusive asshole) and have two kids, only one of which they actually wanted and that would be the one that is NOT me. Most parents would be thrilled to have a child like me; my mom is pissed as hell. She wanted the BOY to be all that, not the girl. She actually loves the boy so she doesn't blame him for failing, she blames me for overachieving. I'm older and apparently I 'set the bar too high' for him to leap over so everything is my fault. Oh. Duly noted. Sorry I ruined everything by working hard, getting an education, capitalizing on opportunities and using my brains. How selfish of me!

No 95, there is nothing to discuss. First of all, it is impossible for me to have a conversation with this woman. She does not converse with me. This would require her shutting her face and LISTENING to me and that has never happened. One time we were in movie theater and I smelled smoke. Me: I smell smoke. Her: Shut up. Me: I smell smoke. The buidling's on fire. Her: Shut up. Me: Mom, the building's on fire. We need to get out before there's a stampede. Her: If you don't shut up right now I'm going to drag you into the aisle and beat the shit out of you right in front of everyone in this theater. DO YOU GET IT? SHUT UP. Someone else in the theater: FIRE! We were caught in the stampede, which could have been avoided if she'd listened to me. The building burned to the ground. If you are not going to listen to someone when they tell you your ass is sitting in a burning building, then you are NEVER going to listen to that person. No. 102, calling my mother a stupid, uneducated old broad is NOTHING compared to the insults she hurled at me from the time I could speak to this day. I have endured 50 years of hearing about how lazy I am (while I am doing work) how stupid I am (back to my Ivy League PhD, how stupid could I possibly be?), I'm a jerk, I'm ugly, I have a rotten personality, she can't imagine how someone as worthless as I am got ahead, I must have ****** my way to the top so she raised the town *****, pretty much everything that you can think of she's said to me or done to me. We live in Pennsylvania and when I was growing up the state still had insane asylums. One was within 10 miles of our house. Every time I disagreed with her, she'd threaten to force me into the car, drive to the insane asylum, drag me into the door and tell them "she's nuts" and dump me there. As an adult, I realize I should have taken her up on that threat. Who would they have institutionalized? The pre-teen who's being dragged by her hair or the psycho mom doing the dragging? This woman physically and verbally abused me throughout my entire childhood. I have a capped tooth, permanently screwed up ankle and a couple of scars courtesy of her (well actually, some of the scars are from my dad beating me, he was also a physical and verbal abuser, so I can't lay it all on her as it was a team effort). I know you think I should kiss her ass just because she's my mother, but frankly nothing I could ever say about her would be more than a drop in the bucket compared to the stuff she did to me.
