By yeueid - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - Estonia

Today, I found out that whenever I text my boyfriend something cute, he texts his friends and asks what to say in his reply. Basically, I've been talking to his friends all the time. FML

Which means he is nervous as hell and wants to make sure he doesn't say something that will make you think he is weird etc

He just doesn't want to say the wrong thing

I would probably do that. I haven't had a girlfriend in years so if want to make sure I didn't **** things up

If he cant respond himself though then how does OP even know the real him? I dont know if that would work out for me. Id rather be with someone who is a little awkward and doesnt always know what to say than be with someone who is hiding behind their friends thoughts and feelings. Sounds like you two need to have a long talk about this, face to face.

Maybe he isn't copying what they say verbatim. He could just be asking for suggestions, and using some of their points while putting his personality on it.

If he's showing his friends every time you say something cute it sounds like he likes you a lot and just doesn't want to say the wrong thing. If it makes you feel weird, you could let him know that you want to date him, not his friends. Good luck OP

Hopefully you found out before sending nude pics

That's cute! It means he wants to impress you :)

Me friends do that. He is just nervous and trying to impress you. Tell him that you don't care about a cute message from him, you just want something from the heart

The best thing to do is to make him feel comfortable, tell him that you want to here what he had to say regardless if it's weird or not. I've gone through a similar situation with my boyfriend because he's shy, but when I made him comfortable he didn't worry anymore

Well its kind of cute, at least he wants to say something good, and his friends must like you to help him out like that. On the other hand, they arent his words which makes them less special and you arent dating his friends, so they shouldnt be involved in private messages like that.

I an confirm that I am a girl and me and my friends have never done this. It's lame and a breach of the other persons privacy.

Not all girls do, but a lot of us definitely do this. I know I do. Not with everything, but when I don't know what to say or to get my friends to help me word what I'm trying to say. It's not a breach of privacy, because it's not when they tell you something personal. Op specifically stated that it was when she said something cute, so it's probably so he can say something cute back.
