Today, I went to a restaurant with some friends. I noticed a very cute waitress about my age, so I walked over to her and asked if she had a boyfriend. The extremely fit, attractive waiter standing next to her immediately turned, held out his hand and goes, "Yeah. Meet me." FML

Not long afterwards, I got text from her saying something had come up, so she couldn't make it. As I was walking back to my car, I saw her walk into the same restaurant with another guy. FML

Today, I was at work at Panera. A blind woman came in, ordered, and said other blind people were going to come in soon, because they were having a meeting. Later, a man came in and asked if any other blind people had showed up. I told him there was just one in here wearing a blue shirt. FML

Today, I went to a Stoplight Party. Green shirt = single, yellow = hard to get, and red = taken. I showed up wearing a red shirt and saw my boyfriend in a green shirt. Thinking it was a mistake, I asked him jokingly why he wasn't wearing red. He looked at me oddly and said, "Oh, you didn't get my text?" FML

There's always at least one naive person who says something like this when a story is about people meeting online. Tons of people meet online nowadays and actually have very strong, healthy relationships. I've been with my fiancee over 5 years now and we just met through a random Facebook encounter. We're still crazy about each other after all this time as well. The problem isn't meeting online, but rather that some people are not smart with it. If you start talking to someone online you need to do more than just messaging with typing beforehand. If you don't you're an idiot. Before my fiancee and I met in person we had done IM, phone, video, pictures, and even sent a gift or two. We had talk for endless hours using various methods and already knew each other quite well. If she had been a fake it would have been the most elaborate hoax I've ever seen and she would have deserved to get away with whatever she was trying to do. Yeah you have to watch yourself, but if you actually use some brain cells while talking to someone online you just may meet that special someone. I certainly did :)
