Distance makes the heart grow further away

Today, I turned down an invite to a huge private party that is rarely given to freshmen in college, because I felt bad that I hadn't had a chance to talk to my girlfriend in a couple of days. I called her a couple of hours later. She answered with, "Hey, I'm at a party. I will call you tomorrow?" FML

You got played. Then again isn't it a little pathetic to have to set aside time to call your girlfriend? It's your fault for not calling her earlier than you did and then you'd still have time for the party. Common sense, use it.

Someone is whipped already. I'm just sayin'.

You're welcome for the insight #21. And that sucks. Maybe you should have planned a time with her, to call her so she could free her schedule up for you too. Just because you freed up time for her doesn't mean she did for you because she wouldn't have known when you were going to call her, especially since you haven't talked to her for a few days. But sorry OP, that sucks. :( Maybe next time?

Seems Luke someone got screwed in the butt cheecks

You turned down a party invite so you could talk to your girlfriend a couple hours later? I'm sorry this really doesn't make sense so I'm going to have to say YDI. Next time call her and talk about your plans that night before throwing them away.

So wait...she wasn't sure that she'd call you the next day?

You don't need to RSVP to huge college parties.

The point is not that he missed the party! He probably actually still went to the party. Or at least he should have. The FML is that he would rather talk to his girlfriend than go to a party, she on the other hand would rather go to a party than talk to him.

Huh?? Unless he specifically said to his girlfriend "I'm going to be free tonight, can I call you and we'll catch up?" his girlfriend isn't to blame for any of this. He's just an idiot for turning down (what seems to be) a pretty exclusive party just for a phone call that could be made at ANY time, without even checking if his girlfriend would be available that night anyway. OP deserved it

What school do you go to? I live in Michigan and go to school in Michigan...
