Don't bother me

Today, I started keeping track. From 7 am to 8:30 pm, my wife, my 11 year-old son, and my 9 year-old daughter screamed for my help 154 times. Every time, it was the most mundane, trivial shit that they could have solved with a nanosecond of critical thinking, but no, easier to bother Dad for everything. FML
I agree, your life sucks 398
You deserved it 170

I was having similar issues with my kids, so I sat them down one day and had a long talk about how it was very disrespectful and downright lazy on their part to constantly yell for me for help when they were more than capable of doing it themselves and then give plenty of examples of them being lazy. and when they start yelling because they're ignoring what you told them ,you do exactly that you ignore them!

You're enabling this behaviour by responding. Tell them to only do the emergency scream if it's an actual emergency or you'll raise kids who can't think for themselves.

You seem stressed. You need a good two weeks of vacation away from your wife and kids. They will be fine when you return.
