Aww that's sort of cute..but you should probably dumb him if he would rather sleep with a cat that you. "diagnosed with cat allergies" is a weird way of putting it. You should have said: "Today, after the doctor told me I'm allergic to cats..." It makes you sound less like you're trying too hard to sound smart.
I would do this.. -.- Cats just make better companions. People suck. Get Over It.
Aw. That's actually kind of cute! Sure, you lost out on your boyfriend for half the night, but I'd be sad about my animal (ours is a dog) having to sleep somewhere else. When our dog was sick my dad slept in the lounge room with him to keep him company. He's not disrespecting your health, he's just also concerned about the cat. All these people saying 'dump him' are forgetting that it was probably just for one or two nights. If he were doing it all the time then yes I'd be concerned, but it's not an instantly dumpable offense.
Awwwwww, isn't that cute? Gotta love cat-friendly persons :) I would cuddle him for being so sweet.
CATS GET SAD TOO ASSHOLES. YOUR BOYFRIEND IS A SWEETHEART. CAPS CAPS CAPS. ok.
Oh wow #69. I'm guessing you're a dog person?
This is neither a FYL or a YDI. I am a 23 year old married male, and I love my cats. Not *over* the love I give my wife, but I care for them deeply, and if I felt my cat needed some attention because they had been locked away for a while, I would absolutely go and give it to them. Quite frankly, if you're that worried about your significant other spending time with the animal that he loves, you have bigger problems to worry about.
My cat would go ballistic if she were locked out of the room. My boyfriend is allergic to cats (but he loves them) and he basically has built up a tolerance to her so that sleeping with her on the bed doesn't bother him anymore. I just try to keep the sheets really clean and make sure that she never gets on his pillow. I'd talk to your bf about it a bit more--it seems that since you just learned of it, your allergy might not be that severe. There could be several fairly easy ways to work this out. I have to admit, if I was told the cat couldn't sleep in the room anymore, I'd probably do something similar. You can explain things to people. Cats have a hard time adjusting to changes immediately. It's better to do things slowly. If your allergy is severe, it might be the end of your relationship though.

Never make someone choose between you and the pet they probably had before they knew you, and who will still love them after your relationship ends. Either take some antihistimines and deal with it, or accept defeat now.
That's pretty harsh but I wouldn't call this a FML unless he continually gets out of bed in the middle of the night to sleep with the cat.
