#104 - Grooming can help a lot, but when I say grooming, that includes bathing. I have had my cat for about 8 months now, and only realized I was allergic when I first got him. I'd lived with cats before and they never bothered me so the allergies developed later on in my life... So I started bathing him regularly right from when he was only 3 weeks old so that he'd get used to the water. Now I can go for about 2 weeks or so with no allergies bugging me, but as soon as I get sniffly I just bathe him again. My allergies must be fairly mild though, because I know some people who can't even be in a room where a cat USED to be without getting stuffed up. (In anticipation of anybody who decides to bitch about how 3 weeks old is too young for a cat to be adopted... he was abandoned under my steps so I took him in rather than putting more strain on overcrowded animal shelters).
There is literally no way that your bf is straight. Which, if you're a guy, should be reassuring. If, however, you are female, it's time to move on- and this time, try dating a guy who doesn't know the thread-count of his socks, exfoliate, or own 'designer' shampoo. If women would follow these simple rules, they wouldn't get saddled with closet-cases.
D'awww He luvs his kitteh (moar dan yur pussy XD)
Dump him, please. That sucks for you a lot. I couldn't EVER own a cat (too annoying) but I do have a dog and I must say he doesn't get sad when he sleeps alone. If he does, he gets over it. Sorry, I think a HUMAN'S feelings are much more important than a cat's. Your boyfriend needs to grow a pair.
The cat probably smells better than you do.
I think its time to get a new boyfriend... It wasn't like you were asking him to get rid of the cat, but just to keep it out of ONE room in the house...
#137 - My boyfriend loves his cat, and he's definitely not gay.
If a cat can sleep alone then so can his girlfriend for a night. I've let my dog sleep with me ever since I've had her and I'd feel bad all of a sudden putting her alone in a different room. Don't dump him, he's obviously sweet.
Wtf, I can't believe some of you are actually suggesting that she dump him. So he feels sorry for the cat, it doesn't mean he values the cat over his girlfriend or that he'll repeat this for as long as they're together.

Never make someone choose between you and the pet they probably had before they knew you, and who will still love them after your relationship ends. Either take some antihistimines and deal with it, or accept defeat now.
That's pretty harsh but I wouldn't call this a FML unless he continually gets out of bed in the middle of the night to sleep with the cat.
