Don't be so sure the new dentist is out to get you. I always had perfect teeth until I hit the age of fourteen and had to change dentists because my original only treated children. I went to the new guy and found out I had ten cavities. This seemed ridiculous since I'd had six month checkups for as long as I could remember. We went back to my original dentist, he took x-rays and looked and basically said, "Yep, he's right. My bad." I just had a root canal, myself, actually. Just tell them you are nervous about going in and they should prescribe you something to knock you out. I didn't feel anything at all.
that's medical malpractice. Get you a lawyer and you can make some serious bank. Probably get money for the procedure, as well as a bit for pain and suffering
Could your new dentist possibly be trying to take your money?
Dentists seem to try to rip you off... my old dentist told me i didn't need braces, and so did my current dentist, but an orthodonist seemed to think otherwise. And so did a second orthodontist, but the funny thing is, both of these orthodontists had wildly different "problems" with my teeth... So i went to one of them, who said i would only have them for a year, and here I am two years later, and they still aren't off
Well I always listen to my dentist simply cause I don't want to look like a guy with terrible teeth, it's my nightmare... But go for a second opinion (it's why I'm making friends with some soon-to-be dentists in college) since it doesn't seem that uncommon that they're just stealing your money. Also, wouldn't you be able to notice it if you needed a root canal? Do the heat and cold test yourself or something.
same thing happened to me. old dentist didn't notice my giant cavity and now i just got a root canal from a new dentist two days ago. it wasn't hurting but if u need a root canal, get it done early before it starts hurting, or you'll lose a tooth.
ow ow ow ow owwww that sucks :(

Sue your previous dentist! Do it, you'll get bucketloads of money :D And FYL for having bad teeth w/o knowing it.
I know everyone is a little lawsuit happy these days, but if these problems should have been brought to your attention by your last dentist, you may have a malpractice case.
